Social Video Producer

The Peak is hiring a video producer to create engaging videos for our social channels, particularly Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube. This role is perfect for someone who is comfortable being on camera and capable of taking a video from idea to publication.

You do not need to be a great animator to do this job successfully. You do need to be able to communicate well on camera, do light video editing, have creative ideas for new video topics and formats, and be enthusiastic about experimenting to maximize reach.

This is a remote role open to anyone in Canada, with the exception of travel needed for filming (to a studio, for example).

Responsibilities

• Write, record, edit, and publish videos across our social channels, with a particular focus on TikTok and Instagram, on a regular cadence
• Write, record, edit, and publish longer videos on YouTube on a less frequent cadence
• Collaborate with writers and other editorial team members to adapt written stories for video
• Work with the editorial and growth teams to find new ways to grow our audience using video
• Stay on the cutting edge of social platform trends and adapt our tactics as necessary
• Ensure your published work is always accurate and in keeping with our editorial standards

Qualifications

Requirements

• Ability to communicate well on camera as a host and/or narrator
• Ability to record, edit, and publish short-form videos on tight deadlines
• Experience with creative video editing
• Deep understanding of short-form video on social platforms, particularly Instagram and TikTok
• Solid understanding of YouTube best practices
• Creative ideas on how to better use social video to tell stories relevant to our audience
• Excellent news judgement — you know why something will make a good story and can independently identify opportunities
• Ability to work independently

Compensation

The annual base salary for this role is between: $65,000 to $80,000
